Our Bonsai Tools are Better!

Why? Because we only sell Bonsai Tools that are from Japan.

What does this mean to you? Very Simple.

It means that we sell only the very best Bonsai tools in the world!

The Bonsai Tool makers we purchase from are descendants of families that have been making metal tools, swords, etc., for generations. They are skilled craftsmen that take immense pride in what they do.

There is no place else on earth where you can go to find such an amassed collection of high quality tools at an attractive price!

While we are talking about tools, it pains my sensibilities to see all these names for different tool qualities: Masters, Professional, Intermediate, Advanced, Student and Novice.

It's too confusing!

Therefore, here is a Japanese Tool Primer:

We must first separate the scissors/shears from the cutters.

In scissors there are 7 grades.

The top grade are 100% handmade and are called Handmade Scissors. They are made from bars of steel and hand crafted from start to finish.

The next grade would be stainless steel – often called masters grade.

The next down would be the professional grade which is where approximately 70% of the tool is handmade with a slug of steel being placed into the blade to afford a better and longer lasting cutting edge when compared to the grades below.

The next grade down would be the intermediate grade which again would be 70% handmade but with a lesser quality blade insertion, but still extremely good quality.

The final grade we sell is still a very high quality forged tool, but it has no blade insertion beaten into it. This is the basic tool. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this quality. This tool, and all grades of tools above this, will last a very long time with a little maintenance consisting of oiling, cleaning and proper storage.

The lower 2 grades are for the mass market in Japan, for sale in the discount centers. Some of our competitors do sell them as their entry level tools. We do not sell these 2 lower quality scissors as we know that you would not be happy with them.

In cutters there are only two grades:

Stainless Steel often called masters grade, and Professional grade.

These two grades of cutters are manufactured the same way that the scissors are above.

There are no other grades of cutters from Japan.

What grade should you buy then?

My advice to all my customers is to buy the most expensive tool type that you can afford. Why? Because you will buy our tools only once as long as you don’t abuse it.

All the tools we offer will last you a long, long time. Therefore, when you buy tools from us, you save money in the long run by buying the best tool once instead of buying the least expensive tool we sell and saving up for the hand made tool. Besides, you would have two then.

It’s what you feel you can afford that should guide your judgment here. As always, if you need help or have questions, we will be very happy to discuss this with you.

Try us and you’ll see the difference in our high quality Tools! Ours is really a great tool and a fantastic value! We guarantee it!

Speaking of fantastic value, did you know that our tools are less expensive than everyone elses? That's right! Shop around and see that no one beats the quality or the price of our tools.
